University Technical Colleges - The Government Increases Number of UTCs to 34

The Government has announced that it has approved a further 15 University Technical Colleges (UTCs) to open across the country over the next two years. This brings the total number of UTCs to 34.

University Technical Colleges offer 14-19 year olds the opportunity to take a highly regarded, full time, technically-oriented course of study. They Colleges are equipped to the highest standard, and will be sponsored by a university and  offer clear progression routes into higher education or further learning in work. 

Major employers supporting some of the new UTCs include Jaguar Land Rover supporting the Warwick UTC, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic the Heathrow UTC Warner Brothers and Sony the Elstree UTC and the Liverpool Low Carbon UTC will be supported by Aru and Balfour Beatty Engineering.
